Improving Burnt Edge Defects in Boron-Alloyed Steel

Abstract: Flat steel edge defects are noticed in boron-alloyed steel grades, this work is an assessment for these edge defects and the actions done to overcome this phenomenon. Raising coiling temperature and Mn/S ratio, lowering nitrogen content, and using titanium with boron showed a notable improvement in the final condition.
