Description
Abstract: In the current study, the effect of basicity (R = CaO/SiO2 by mass %) and ratio of C/A (C/A = CaO/Al2O3 by mass %) on the absorption ability of tundish fluxes to inclusions in SWRCH22A cold heading steels was investigated at 1813 K. Firstly, phase diagram calculations were used to clarify properties and behaviors of tundish fluxes under casting conditions. At the same time, equilibrium reactions between steel and tundish flux were calculated using FactSage thermodynamic software. Afterwards, on this basis, laboratory equilibrium experiments were carried out in MgO crucibles at 1813 K using Si-Mo resistance furnace. The results showed that the number of inclusions was decreased with the increase of basicity and ratio of C/A of slag.
