Description
Abstract: The work is focused on the optimization of the High pressure die casting process for aluminium alloy, to improve the reliability of the process and the quality of casting with economical and environmental benefits. In particular, the work performed has been related to the thermal balance of the die through a suitable control and setting of the lubricant application with simultaneous refrigerating effects. In fact, a good control of the temperature distribution through the die determines a considerable reduction of dimensional defects of castings together with a better control of possible residual porosity.
