Abstract: The combined characteristic of the texture and surface morphology of electrodeposited zinc coatings obtained on pipes will improve understanding their corrosion resistance and reflectivity. In order to control the texture and surface morphology of the zinc coatings being electrodeposited onto the internal surfaces of pipes, a method and a device have been developed to affect the coatings by a minor friction force during electrodeposition. It has been experimentally established that the formation of a double axial texture (00.1)[hk.l] + (10.1)[hk.l] in the electrodeposited zinc coatings obtained on pipes in combination with a decrease in their porosity are the main factors that enhance the corrosion resistance of electrodeposited zinc coatings. Smoothing the surface morphology of the electrodeposited zinc coatings obtained on pipes accounts for an increase in their reflectivity.
