Description
Abstract: In-situ single crystal nanowire growth was observed in the TEM for the WO3 system. This paper provides a proposed mechanism for the nanowire formation based on critical particle size and free energy considerations. The importance of a uniform particle size distribution for the parent phase to producing highly aligned nanowire is discussed. This mechanism may provide a novel high-energy electron lithography process for controlled nanowire manufacturing.
