Description

Headings: Microstructure and densification of Al-Cr-Si alloy fabricated by using gas-atomization and spark plasma sintering (SPS) processes are investigated. The atomizedAl-25Cr-5Si alloy powders were fine and spherical in morphology. The atomized Al-Cr-Si alloy powder was fine and spherical in morphology. The average particle size of the atomized powder (D50) was 36.046 μm (D0.1 was 11.967 μm and D0.9 was 82.141 μm). In the atomized microstructure, Al, Cr, and Si are uniformly distributed, with no compositional segregation. The shrinkage lengths of the samples sintered at 600, 800, 900, and 1000 ℃ were 0.11, 0.49, 1.24, and 1.14 mm, respectively. The sintered relative densities were 2.88, 3.08, 3.55, and 3.48 g/cm3, respectively.
